Felix is an easygoing, pleasant, family man who is always willing to help others. He currently cares for his autistic son and mother-in-law who suffers from dementia and Alzheimer's. Although Felix likes his privacy, he says, "if sharing my personal story can help people, then I'm all for it."

Before moving to York, Felix worked in a Florida hospital as an environmental services department supervisor. Prior to being diagnosed with heart disease in 2004 and diabetes in 2007, Felix admits his health wasn't very good and he had a family history of health problems.

As a Challenger, Felix hopes to improve his condition and help others learn about their condition - both inside and outside the Latino community. He feels that people really need to understand that their health care is a two-way street and that they need to actively work with their doctor by educating themselves, taking their medications, adopting healthy habits, and going to their appointments. "If you aren't going to work on yourself, don't expect to get better," says Felix honestly.

Felix hopes to overcome his breathing problems and improve his health so he can run around with his son and show others with his conditions that it can be done!
