Vickie works in the health care field as a Patient Administration Service Specialist. In 2001, she was diagnosed with diabetes, and diagnosed with heart disease the following year. Vickie is a caring, outgoing, and bubbly person who is willing to help. She warns however, that people will get no BS from her, proudly speaking the truth and "telling it like it is."

Previously, Vickie was morbidly obese after gaining 150 pounds over the course of eight years. She has since had gastric bypass surgery.  Motivated by her grandchild, Vickie hopes to get back on track, raise her self-esteem and share what she learns with others. Vickie is actively involved in her community and even volunteers with infants. Vickie says her biggest challenge will be overcoming her love of sweets. When asked to give advice to others diagnosed with her conditions, she honestly and directly tells them to remember, "you're not invincible".
