Calvary Temple I Can! Challenge Team
Tonight is our first meeting. I'm not sure how many will show up but I'm still excited and looking forward to doing the challenge with the group from our church.

Re: Calvary Temple I Can! Challenge Team
We had 11 people show up. We had a great meeting and I hope they are all enthused and motivated to set their goals. A few shared openly, some only a little and some not at all. Next week, I'll go around the table individually and ask each person if they want to share. Some just don't like to jump in the conversation and may need to be given that opportunity.

Re: Calvary Temple I Can! Challenge Team
We had a great session last night. It was on "Portion Control". After discussing portion control, and rating your plate. I did a little exercise that I "borrowed" from Pam Brant a Choose to Change facilitator. I cut out pictures of food from a magazine and glued them to paper plates and gave one to each person and asked them how they could make that meal healthier or was it ok as is. I had pictures of a huge plate of brownies, pizza, a huge breakfast from Bob Evans, fish, fruit and so on. I really mixed up the foods.
I even had different size plates to see if anyone would notice that the food was on a plate that was far too large. They didn't catch it right off but eventually they caught on.
We had some very lively discussion and hopefully everyone learned something. We had 1 new member and that brings our total now to 12 participants.
Following our session we did a one mile walk with Walk Away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone. Next week's session is on increasing your activity so I'm going to put on the 2 mile walk and see how far we can get.
