Introduction to Challenge

Congratulations! By joining the “I Can! Challenge,” you have taken the first step to living a healthier life. During this 12-week journey, you will learn how to manage your diabetes or heart disease and improve your overall health and quality of life. 

This is important because if you don’t take care of yourself now, your condition can cause more problems in the future. The good news is that there are many things you can do to improve your health. This program will teach you how. 

People who’ve completed the I Can! Challenge said they felt so much better. They lost weight, managed their sugar, reduced their medications and slept better – just to name a few! You can see how the Challenge has impacted others by visiting the Challenger Blogs section of the I Can! web site. 

You might want to have a friend join you or start a group at work so you can get support from other people doing the Challenge. It doesn’t have to be someone with heart disease or diabetes – everyone can improve their health by taking the I Can! Challenge.  Remember, every person is different. You might not see or feel results as quickly as your friend. But, hang in there and stay with the program – the benefits will come and they are worth it. 

Everything you need to complete the Challenge (information, tools and worksheets) is on this Web site. Start by reading the Challenge for the week and doing the action items. Check out the tips and complete the worksheets listed under each Challenge. Also use each week’s Challenge Tracker to check off the items you complete. Be sure to explore the additional resources too!
